Bonjour ma famille et mes amis,
So, I started off the week by going to eat dinner at Bishop Mocellin's
house. It was really fun! Also, I can now say that I have eaten
escargot, and it is actually really good. It was nearly as slimy as I
thought it would be haha. I was impressed.
I did an exchange with Elder Nelson from Chambéry this week. There was
this one part-member family that I have really been wanting to pass,
but they lived like 40 min away by car. So, I took advantage of
Chambéry's car, and we drove all the way out there. Sadly, the woman
wouldn't answer us when we called until we finally got there, and she
told us that her and her husband were in Bordeaux so that was kind of
a bummer.
We also had three baptisms here in Grenoble this week which was fun.
Sadly, Nell Gisonda still hasn't been baptized. We quickly learned
that it was very difficult to set up a baptism while they are out of
town. For example, we were texting her and eventually learned that she
was going up to Normandie to pick up her sister on the day that she
was supposed to be baptized. But, we will be seeing Nell on Wednesday
and will work on setting up her baptism for either this week or the
week after.
The ward wanted to have a New Years Eve party but didn't want to do it
on Saturday because everyone would be out late and miss church. So
instead, we celebrated New Years Eve as a ward on Friday. It was a
really great experience because we were able to get a bunch of amis
and less actives there, and they were able to gain a stronger
relationship with the members of the ward. So, on New Years Eve, all
of the Grenoble équipes got together, and we ate some really good
pizza and just played games. It was a lot of fun!
I'm so happy and excited to start this new year continuing to bring
others unto Christ!
Love,
Elder Mason
