Week 47: La Consécration du Temple de Paris

Bonjour ma chère famille,

So first off, I will be staying in Vitrolles for another 6 weeks, but
I will have a different comp this time. My new colleague is Elder
Romero. I don't know too much about him yet, but I do know that I was
lucky enough to receive one of the very few people that come out of
Wyoming haha. I don't remember exactly where though.

Last Saturday, we were able to attend the cultural celebration done by
the youth. There was a lot of youth there because there was all of the
youth of France and French-speaking stakes from Switzerland and
Belgium. But, it was super cool to see all of these different people
that I have met so far on the mission participating in this awesome
performance.

The highlight of this week was without a doubt the dedication of the
Paris Temple. At the dedication, there was President Eyring, Elder
Andersen, and Bishop Caussé. Every talk that they gave and every word
that they said was so powerful. It was the very first temple
dedication that I have ever witnessed, and I was so glad that my first
was the one for the Paris Temple. I'm so happy to be here in France
during this wonderful time. The people of France have been waiting so
long for this moment, and it has finally come!

Ever since I got in the mission, just about all of our efforts or
goals were pointed to the Paris temple. Now that the temple is
finished, I feel like this is a really big turning point in the
mission because we have been working so hard to prepare people to go
to the Paris temple for when it is finished. But now, we need to just
get people to the temple so that everyone can receive the wonderful
blessings that come from temples.

Also one other cool thing is that because they didn't transmit the
temple dedication to every chapel, we had to go to Marseille, but the
cool part is that the Manosque members had to come to Marseille too.
It was so awesome to see them again! I totally forgot how much I loved
them until I actually started talking to them again. I really hope
that all is still going well for them even though there aren't any
missionaries currently serving in their branch. 😢

Love,
Elder Mason
