Last Monday, we went to the beach with Alexis Portellano which was
super pretty. We were able to see all of Marseille just across the
Mediterranean Sea. It was honestly pretty dope. Then that night, we
went to the Di Gallo family's house again with Alexis for a Soirée
Familiale. It was super fun like always. We retaught the 10
commandments and obeying and honoring the law. We also played some
more baby-foot like always, and sadly, Amelie and I lost again. ☹️
We also had the chance to teach Oehau and Océan again this week. This
time, we actually finished the Plan of Salvation. Elder Berget and I
had one of those wooden things that shows the Plan of Salvation to
help make it more visual, and it worked so well. Océan said that it
really helped her understand all of the different parts to the plan.
It's so cool to see how much more interested Océan is becoming with
each lesson. She asked so many questions which was awesome because it
shows that she really is interested and is paying attention. It was
funny because after the lesson, Oehau wanted to test Océan, so he had
her put together the Plan of Salvation by herself. And, I can happily
say that she did it haha. Also, we learned that they will actually be
staying in France till at least June now, so that's cool.
Now to the main highlight of the week, General Conference. Comme
d'habitude, it was great to hear from the prophet, Thomas S. Monson;
the apostles; and the many other general authorities. One talk that
really stood out to me this time was the talk by Elder Dallin H. Oaks
during the Sunday Morning Session. He focused on the Godhead and each
member of the Godhead's specific purpose. He first stated how the
Godhead includes three separate Beings: God, Jesus Christ, and the
Holy Ghost. He then explained how God is the presiding authority of
the Godhead and is the supreme being of all. After, he spoke of the
purpose of Jesus Christ, the one only Begotten Son of the Father.
Jesus Christ was chosen by God, the Father, to come to the Earth to
redeem the world from sin. Without Christ's atoning sacrifice, all
would be lost. Finally, he discussed the importance of the Holy
Spirit. The Holy Ghost is not like the Father or the Son because the
Comforter is just a spirit and doesn't have a tangible body like God
and Jesus, but the purpose of this is so that He can reside within us.
The purpose of the Holy Ghost is to teach us all things and bring all
things to our remembrance. Also, by the power of the Holy Spirit, we
can receive guidance when we face trials in our lives. I'm so grateful
for this wonderful plan that God has created for us. I know that this
plan truly is a Plan of Happiness. I know that God knows me personally
and you too, and He loves us all.
Love,
Elder Mason
