Week 38: What a NICE Week

Hello,

I was able to start the week off with an interview with President
Brown which was great like always. Then, because we were in Nice, we
got to spend our P-Day touring Nice. It was so fun, and I don't think
I've ever felt more like a tourist in my life haha. We walked around
Nice, went to the beach, and walked along Promenade des Anglais. Oh
and we also ate at Hard Rock Café which was super good. At Hard Rock
Café, we met some RC Toulon players that the Toulon Elders knew, so we
talked to them for a little bit. After finding a table and everything,
one of the rugby players brought over a huge plate of nachos and
another plate of something else that was really good. But basically,
it was one of the best P-Days ever.

We then spent the night in Saint Raphael, and the next day, we came
back to Nice for zone conference. It was so good, and we talked a lot
about the power of the Atonement. We had the opportunity to go to a
grove of olive trees in Nice towards the end of the conference, and we
could really feel the Spirit and the power of the Savior's sacrifice
for each and everyone of us. President Brown invited us to close our
eyes and imagine that we are in the Garden of Gethsemane when we
partake of the Sacrament. I had the opportunity to do it yesterday,
and I was really able to feel Christ's love for me. I invite you all
to do the same.

We had the opportunity to visit Oheau and his wife Océan again this
week. It's really cool to see how Océan is becoming more and more
interested in our lessons. We talked about the Plan of Salvation with
them but didn't get too far because Océan was asking so many questions
which is awesome. The main difficulty with her is that she was raised
as a Jehovah's Witness, so there are many things that she disagrees
with us about. But, we will continue to work with her.

One of the families that we ate with this week was the family Longin.
They were so funny and cool. Their oldest daughter served a mission in
London, their oldest son is currently serving in Kazakhstan speaking
Russian which is super crazy and the family was able to share some
crazy stories about him, and the next oldest daughter is currently
preparing to serve a mission which is great. I can't wait for the next
time that we get to go over there.

Also, a little side note is that we are in Lyon today to get a car for
Vitrolles which means I will be driving. It will help sooo much with
the work here. The only downer is that I will probably be driving an
automatic, hybrid Toyota Yaris. Love you all!

Love,
Elder Mason
