So, this week has been pretty interesting because there wasn't any
missionaries in Vitrolles the week before I got there for some dumb
reasons. As a result, we had nothing planned, and we were just kinda
doing a lot of contacting and porting. Luckily though, some of the
members came in clutch and needed us to help them with home teaching
and visiting some less actives.
There are two things I've learned about the work in this sector.
First, we pretty much never do any missionary work in Vitrolles
because Vitrolles is fairly small and all the work here has already
been done. So, we usually have to take buses to outer villes. The two
most common villes that we go to are Martigue and Salon-de-Provence.
They are both pretty cool cities, especially Martigue because it's so
pretty.
The other thing I've learned about Vitrolles is the need to work with
members. First of all, they are all super cool. Second, they are
really good member missionaries. We are currently trying to help them
with their inviting skills. Most of the members are not afraid of
sharing the Gospel, but they need to start inviting. Our goal with the
members is to help them with their missionary efforts and to help them
gain enough trust in us to teach their friends. So, we have set up a
bunch of member rdv's this upcoming week and the week after that, and
I'm super pumped for them.
Church was super fun because all of the members are just so dang
awesome! I've already made so many good friends because of their
kindness, coolness, and funniness! I can't wait to work more with
them!
Also, I went to Steak n Shake today with a cool member named Alexis
Portellano, and it was super good. I've never been to one in America,
but it's good in France.
Love,
Elder Mason
