Bonjour ma famille et mes amis,
So this week started off with Elder Eberhard and I traveling to
Béziers for Elder Eberhard's 2nd year legality. But long story short,
we weren't able to get to Béziers and do the legality stuff because it
was a national holiday called Toussaint. So now, we have to head to
Béziers again today and tomorrow.
We were recently allowed to use something called the "Area Book
Planner App". So, we have been spending a lot of time recently to
transfer a lot of information from paper onto our iPads. It takes a
lot of time, is pretty boring, and we still have a lot more to
transfer.
This past week, we received a media referral from a man named Brian
Francois who is actually from New Hampshire. Brian and his girlfriend
were really interested in genealogy work. I was kind of nervous to go
over and teach them about it because I honestly don't know that much
about it. But somehow, it went really well. Also, Brian and his
girlfriend are super cool, and we ate a really yummy Spanish dish
called Pailla (I think).
One of our amis named Luu is from Vietnam. She is currently studying
languages at the university and can speak about 7 different languages.
But lately, we have been working with her to get her to church because
for the past couple of months, she says that she will try, but she
hasn't come once. Our dmp (ward mission leader) suggested to have the
ward pray for her so that she could come. We also fasted so that she
could come to. And, the best part about all of this is that she came
to church. It was so awesome, and it shows that God really does pay
attention to our efforts on Earth.
Speaking of church, it was so awesome. Sacrament meeting was so
packed, partly because there were two baby blessings, but there were
160 people there. It was so great! Also, Elder Eberhard taught the 2nd
hour amis class which went well. We have such cool members too. For
example, there is a guy named Dustin Harding who is here for school
who actually played the 14 year old Joseph Smith in the Restoration
video. Also, there is woman that does martial arts (I think) who was
in a Mormon message thing.
Love,
Elder Mason
