Week 25: Elder Sabin Conference

Bonjour ma famille et mes amis,

Oh my gosh...this week flew by! It's so crazy how fast time can pass
by on the mission! For example, Christmas is in 6 days!!! Which I am
pretty stoked for.

But anyways, I started off the week by going to a huge conference with
6 of the zones in my mission. The speaker was a man named Elder Gary
B. Sabin. I'm pretty sure he is the 2nd counselor in the Area 70. But,
the conference was so good. Also, it was really awesome to see a lot
of friends that I haven't seen since the MTC. One of the lines that I
heard that I really liked a lot was "Stretch, don't Stress". It is so
important in our lives especially as missionaries to push ourselves so
that we can grow and become better/more self-reliant.

Lately, we have been seeing the Gama family (a part-member/less-active
family). We have been working on teaching the 9 year old son who
hasn't been baptized. Sadly, the mother has turned away from the
church due to some trials that she has faced in her life, and now, she
has some pretty crazy beliefs. So, it'll be difficult to teach the
son, Moisés, and prepare him for baptism, but we will continue to try.

We had the opportunity to see Nell Baret again this week. Her original
baptismal date was for December 17th, but we just changed it to
December 28th. Nell is so ready to be baptized, and we are so excited
for her. We are currently planning on her being baptized in
Aix-en-Provence because she will be there for vacation and a lot of
her family lives there. We currently just have one worry because we
know that her parents are both less active and divorced and for some
reason she lives in Grenoble with her aunt and uncle. Apparently, the
mom is for Nell being baptized, but it doesn't sound like she is
really in contact with her dad. Hopefully, it all turns out well. We
have been praying for her everyday.

Love you all!

Love,
Elder Mason
