Ok...a lot of stuff happened this week. To start off, we saw Herve and taught him about Genesis and Adam and Eve like he wanted us to do. Elder Loveland and I taught him the best that we could, but he just wouldn't accept what we were trying to say. He kept on trying to fight back and thought that he knew better. So for the moment, we will not be seeing Herve.
After we returned from our district meeting in Gap, we met with a man named Gio (I think that is how you spell it). He is the boyfriend of a convert of about 4-5 years named Catherine. The lesson went really well, especially with Catherine there to help, and we are supposed to have a mangez-vous with them this Tuesday which is awesome. Also, Gio came to church with Catherine too.
Then this last Saturday, we saw the man that we ported into named Christophe. He is non-believing currently but wants to change. We had a really good rendez-vous with him and just taught the Restoration of the Gospel. Also, when we brought things about reading the Book of Mormon and praying about it, he was always willing to do it. I know that as he reads the Book of Mormon and seeks for an answer, he will receive a response. It was kind of funny though because when he figured out that we were "Mormon", he thought that we were Amish. So then, I had to explain that we are nothing like Amish people at all haha.
Then, we went to Les Mees and had lunch with the Farias and Anthony. We taught Anthony a little bit more about the Gospel, and now he is officially considered an ami. Sadly, we weren't able to teach him about the Restoration because of a lack of time, but we will be sure to teach him that soon.
After that, we went to the Corradi's house. The Corradis have 10 kids, and they are all less active at the moment. We later figured out that the youngest has not been baptized yet, and he is 9, so now it is our responsibility to teach him. We ended up teaching about the Restoration with the 4 youngest children and the parents. It went very well. Actually this Wednesday, we will be going back to the Corradi's house for dinner and to teach the Plan of Salvation.
This past church meeting was also crazy. Towards the end of Sacrament meeting, this one black guy that we didn't recognize came in and sat down. So after the meeting, Elder Loveland and I went and talked to him. We quickly learned that he doesn't speak French. After some time, we learned that he spoke Spanish and Portuguese. Lucky for us, there are a couple members who speak Spanish, and the Branch President and his sister can both speak Portuguese. We later learned that he was baptized last December. This meant that we would be teaching him too during 2nd hour because he is a recent convert. Let's just say that there were about 3-4 different languages going on in that room, so it was kind of crazy and confusing. Also, it was so weird because I could understand bits and pieces of the things that Armando (the Portuguese guy) said.
Also, today was pretty exciting because I threw up while looking in a store called Intersport. Let's just say there was a lot, it was messy, and then they made me clean it up haha. At least it's over haha.
I just wanted to finish off by saying that I love you all and thanks for all of the support.
Love,
Elder Mason
