Week 2: It's moving by a lot quicker now

I've been here for 10 days now, and boy oh boy the days are already going by so much faster. I feel like I have already learned so much in such a little bit of time. I am already basically fluent in French....jk, but I do feel like I'm definitely improving. I have now taught my "investigator" Pamela 5 or 6 times with Elder Thorneloe. We have gone through a few of the different lessons from Prechez mon Evangile and taught her some other things according to her needs. We have gone from reading our French questions and sentences off of a piece of paper to only bringing two pamphlets with us and nothing else to teach her (and that lesson was probably our best one yet) Btw the pamphlets we used were on the Word of Wisdom and Chastity which was fun, but we had to do it to help her solve her problems with her boyfriend and quit her serious smoking addiction. I know that the Gift of Tongues is real. My companion and I definitely wouldn't have been able to teach her without God on our side.

My testimony has also grown significantly by attending things like Devotional, workshops, and (this one may surprise many of you but) I joined the choir here. I feel so close to the Lord here and can feel the Spirit so strong and clearly. I know that this is where the Lord wants me to be, and I know that I definitly wouldn't want to be anywhere else right now. I am so grateful for the way that God has blessed me in my life.

Btw when I first came here, I was honestly pretty worried about the food but it hasn't been that awful at all. I mean it's not great, but it isn't terrible.

Also, from the time I got here till last weekend, all 12 of the apostles, Elder Eyring, and Elder Uchtdorf were here teaching 171 future mission presidents. It was crazy to know that we were all here at the same time.

One thing that is pretty cool is that the MTC gave all of the missionaries going to the France Lyon Mission iPads just to use and get used to in the MTC. But, it sucks for the Paris France Missionaries because they had to buy samsung tablets for their mission before they came here, so they don't get the same benefits that us iPad users get.

Love,
Elder Mason
