We also started doing something called TRC. During TRC, we teach two members that speak French a lesson. The members aren't acting like another person or anything. They just go to help themselves, and as a result, we, as missionaries, can improve our teaching skills and French skills too. On Wednesday, we did our first TRC sesh. We taught an Asian BYU student named Daniel who served in the Paris France Mission. Then, we taught an older guy named Jean. He was born in France and then moved to San Francisco when he was about 18 years old. Around the time when he turned 28, he was baptized into the Church. We had really good experiences teaching these people. We also taught François and Rachelle all in the same day. Elder Thorneloe and I were exhausted, but we learned a lot.
For some reason on July 2nd, we celebrated the 4th of July. We had a flag ceremony, and then talked about the America's history and some of the great American men. Then, we went outside and watched the Stadium of Fire show. So, that was pretty cool.
Sooooo....about being hurt. I was playing soccer out in the field with a lot of the Elders in my zone until I slipped because the grass was kinda wet, and I was wearing running shoes instead of cleats. When I slipped, I landed on my elbow, and the jolt feels like it messed up or stretched some of the muscles around my shoulder/ neck area on the left side of the body. It mainly just hurts when I move my neck which i realized happens a lot each day. Also, it hurts the worst when I yawn. And, the worst part about the accident was that I was about to score a goal too. It happened on Monday. It is slowly going away, but it really hasn't been that big of a problem.
Love,
Elder Mason
