Bonjour ma famille,
Things are going really well here in Nîmes! We have so much going on,
and I feel like we are busy all of the time.
So, there is a less active family in the ward (la famille Mondragon)
that we have recently started to work with, and they are actually all
from Peru. So basically, the mom can speak a little French, and the
youngest son can speak French, but the two other sons only speak
Spanish. Luckily for me, Elder Ramirez is my comp, and he speaks
Spanish. So, we've been teaching them French lately. Also, we have a
super strong recent convert named Jean-Luc who is actually dating Sœur
Mondragon, but he can only understand most of Spanish. So, we (as in
Elder Ramirez) have been teaching him Spanish so that he can connect
and get to know the sons. But over all, it's been a lot of fun, and
they are super great people. Also, they are starting to come back to
church more too!
I also had the opportunity to go on an exchange with Elder Encarnacion
this week in Albi/Rodez which is a sector filled with a bunch of very
tiny but very pretty French villes. We passed a great time together,
and we were able to get a lot done too. Elder Encarnacion is from San
Clemente, and we figured out that we are pretty much the same person.
Also, we have the exact same taste in music. But, we had some really
good conversations with people that we met while porting and with an
old ami too.
Also, I feel really blessed here. For example, we are at church
yesterday, and I was talking with one of our recent converts named
Paul, and he was telling me about this one friend that he wants us to
see. So, I will hopefully be able to get in contact with this friend
soon. Then during 3rd hour, I was talking to this LA that randomly
came to church, and then, we started talking about his neighbor who is
interested in the Gospel. We will be seeing both the LA and his
neighbor this Saturday, so I'm pretty excited for that!
Love,
Elder Maçon
