Salut !
So, all is going well here in Nîmes! Also, I really enjoy being around
with my new comp, Elder Ramirez. He's a funny kid and is ready to work
hard.
The work hasn't been going super strongly here for the last little
while, but I'm planning on changing that. One of the first things that
I've been trying to work on is the relationship with the members
because I feel like it isn't very strong at the moment or at least not
as strong as it could be. Also, the ward here is fairly small (about
50 active members), and there are also A LOT of old people. But, I
feel like things are going better. For example, a member came up to me
after church and started to talk to me about this friend that he has
that he wants to invite to church. With member work, I'm gonna be
working on getting some less actives back to church because there are
quite a bit of them due to some past ward problems.
Also, I've been trying to find some new solid amis for Nîmes. So,
we've been doing plenty of contacting. But, I've also been tryna get
in contact with some old amis to see if any of them are interested
again in coming unto Christ.
One kinda funny thing that happened this week was during the 2nd hour
of church. We ended up having to teach amis' class, and the subject
was final judgement. Also, we had one recent convert that was there,
and she is Russian and only speaks a tiny, tiny bit of French. So
yeah...at first, I had no clue what to talk about, but I eventually
pulled something out of nowhere and taught a pretty killer lesson
(probably because I've done this plenty of times now, and I've got the
Lord on my side). But about 3/4 into the lesson, Alvard (the Russian)
asked us what jugement translated into in Russian, and at that point,
I was just like, "Ugh, ok." Haha I don't think she understood like
anything about the lesson, but oh well.
Love you all, and have a good week!!!
Love,
Elder Mason
