Week 9: Beacoup de Moving

Dear Everyone,

Elder Peterson and I have had another great week here in Manosque. We have been doing a lot of moving though, but that's ok because I'm just getting super big and muscular haha. We helped out with 3 different moves 3 days in a row, and one of the days, we were gone for 10 1/2 hours and helping this family move and didn't even finish. This was for a couple of reasons. It was in a St. Etienne (not the one by Lyon) which takes about 45 min to get there. Also, we only had a large van, and we were helping them move from St. Etienne to Les Mees which takes about 35 min (but there are some pretty cool back roads on the way which would probably be pretty fun to drive on). And finally, they have 10 kids and A LOT of stuff.

The funny thing is that we are going to move now to because of our crazy neighbor that lives just below us. She is so creepy and has a skull face, tattooed eyebrows, and a gross piercing on her chest. Ewww...it creeps me out just thinking about her. But, we spent most of our P-Day looking for a new apartment so that's fun.

Another physical activity that we did last Friday was indoor football (soccer) with the Branch. We had a really fun time, and we were able to get some less actives and some of our amis there too.

Last Thursday, we went to the Branch President's house for lunch, and he invited some friends that we got to teach too. We had a really great time there. The Farias (the Branch President's family) are so nice, and they have the cutest child named Owen. We ate a super good homemade Lasagna and had banana splits for dessert. After we ate, we taught there friends about the importance of families, and we gave them a couple of those "My Family" pamphlets to fill out. Apparently after we left, they told the Farias that they really enjoyed our lesson and are interested which is really awesome.

We were able to meet up with Jean-luc a couple of times this past week. He hadn't been coming to church lately because just about every Saturday night something bad would happen, and he wouldn't come to church. So, we had to remind him of the importance of partaking of the Sacrament. At the end of our lesson, he said a very touching prayer in which he promised God that he would come to church which was super awesome, and apparently he ended up staying up until 3 am without realizing just studying the Sacrament and the Atonement. This last Saturday night something bad happened to him again (which is a sign that Satan is working really hard to keep Jean-luc from going to church), so we stopped by his apartment on our way to church and didn't get an answer. A little bit later, we saw Jean-luc at church, and Elder Peterson, the Branch, and I were just so happy to see him there. Apparently, because we ringed his apartment, he woke up.

Avec Amour,
Elder Mason
